ASIA-PACIFIC REGION – Corbion, a Dutch food and biochemical company, announced the expansion of its partnership with Azelis, a food ingredient solution supplier, to include the distribution of its products in Malaysia and Singapore through Azelis.

The distribution will be done through Azelis’ Food and Nutrition division and is purposed to take effect on April 1st.

Corbion is a leading provider of fermentation and preservation ingredients for advanced nutritional and flavour enhancement solutions and the two companies already have a working relationship that sees to the delivery of Corbion’s ingredient solutions in India and Indonesia.

This alliance helps Corbion to strengthen its position in the Asia-pacific region (APAC), more recently in Malaysia and Singapore, and helps foster greater customer intimacy in these markets.

“After partnering successfully with Azelis in India and Indonesia, we are pleased to expand that relationship to include Malaysia and Singapore,” Shane Petersen, Regional Sales Director SEA/ANZ of Corbion comments.

The company is equipped with more than 100 years of experience and they intend to leverage their unmatched expertise in fermentation to deliver sustainable solutions for food production and health in these new regions.

For Azelis, the agreement further strengthens its lateral value chain with additional advanced solutions applicable for meat and fish, plant-based alternatives, beverages, baked goods, dairy, and snack products.

It also helps the company meet market demand for solutions with clean-label alternatives and improved consumer experience in a much wider consumer base.

Azelis and Alvinesa merger

A more recent development on Azelis’ part was the partnership with Alvinesa Natural Ingredients (Alvinesa), an agricultural upcycling and circular economy specialist.

The partnership will expand Alvinesa’s footprint to Vietnam, India and South Korea, opening a new market for its sustainable plant-based ingredients.

Effective immediately, this mandate also expands Azelis’ lateral value chain in India, Korea and Vietnam with the addition of Alvinesa’s range of natural products, allowing the group to provide additional solutions for the growing nutraceuticals market.
